The facility is part of the Abu Dhabi Police strategy to boost social security.

Colonel Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director-General of Central Operations Department, said that the service was launched on the directive of Lieutenant-General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, to boost the role of the special support centre, an affiliate of the Community Police Department. The main aim of this service is to provide solutions to different family problems.

"A counselling team dedicated to solving social problems has been appointed for this mission. The team will work in utmost confidentiality while receiving and answering the calls," he said, asking all members of society not to hesitate to call the helpline numbers — 8006363, 8007373 and 8005354.
