Brig Mohammed Al Noubi, a Sharjah CID officer, said the police have not arrested any African gang for any thefts. It is just a rumour. “People should not believe anything and everything that is circulated. They have to check first with official sources,” he added.

Such rumours create panic among families and affect the security and stability of the emirate.

He said the Sharjah Police have not asked people to be cautious of any African gang known to conduct robbery in any area of the emirates. The police have also not received any complains about the gang.

No cases of robbery at houses, villas or apartments have been recorded at any police station. All these are just rumours to frighten people and threaten the security of the emirates, he added.
