Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazina, Deputy Commander in Chief, Dubai Police, said the Socceroos star refused to pay a cabbie after being taken from a night club, on Wednesday night.

Al Mazina said that Moore, 34, who retired after the 2010 World Cup, was arrested after an alleged drunken brawl when he refused to obey police orders and argued with the police.

He said the Socceroos player, who came to the UAE on a visit visa, was referred to the Dubai Public Prosecution on charges of consuming alcohol and refusing to obey police orders.

However, the Public Prosecution released him on bail on Friday .

An official at the Dubai Public Prosecution office said no date was set for the court hearing.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), has not named Moore in statements relating to the case, but said a 34-year-old Queenslander arrested in Dubai on September 15, was released on bail on Friday pending a court hearing.
