Poets set to enthrall audience

DUBAI - Six poets will enthrall a huge audience at the Crowne Plaza Hotel of Dubai today at a Hasya Kavi Sammelan titled "Haste Hasate" that is being presented by Navratna Plus Herbal Cool Oil and organised by Signature Events, Khaleej Times and 106.2 Hum FM.

The show starts at 8-30 and will continue for three hours.

The poets include Surender Sharma, Hullad Muradabadi, Om Vyas, Mohinder Sharma, Sunil Jogi and Manjit Singh who will explore different themes including that of Indo-Pak amity in their recitation of poetry laced with humour.

Surender Sharma known for his four-line poems in Hindi and Rasjasthani is sure to bring the house down with his witty recitations. Hullad Muradabadi is a famous poet and a major attraction of the mushaira gathering. He will present his poems in the form of ghazals. Sunil Jogi is famous among the youngsters as a young hasya kavi because of his ability to present his poems in his unique singing style.

Om Prakash Vyas one of the top-most kasya kavis noted for his own unique style. The satirical humour of Mohinder Sharma will be very much in evidence at the Hasya Kavi Sammelan while Manjit Singh will present some of his own compositions from Shakahari Masti, Wrong Number etc.

Speaking at a Press conference at the Crowne Plaza on Thursday, Om Vyas said that laughter is the best medicine for any disease. "People throughout the world are suffering because they have forgotten how to laugh. It is our mission to bring back laughter and happiness to the lives of others.
