Asked about the reason for putting up the notice, the restaurant management said it has been noticed that customers (mostly Arab) tend to overfill their plates during Ramadan. In the end, more than half of the food will end up in the trash bin. Hence the notice.

At the same time, the restaurant has no problem if customers refill their plates once or twice or even thrice as long as they eat the food they pile up on their plates, the management said.

Officials at the restaurant said all restaurants that offer open buffet hate to see more than half of their food thrown in the garbage, but they choose not to put up such notices and offend customers.
