This is the fourth play written by Dr Shaikh Sultan. Announcing the programme, Abdullah Al Owais, Director General of Sharjah Department of Culture and Information, the organisers of the event, said the play would be directed by Ahmed Abdullah Al Haleem, a famous Arab director.

The play illustrates the life and times of Alexander the Great, one of the greatest generals in history, who conquered much of what was then the civilised world.

Al Owais said a number of Arab and UAE actors were expected to take part in the play, the theme of which also reflects on some of the recent political developments across the world.

Dr Mohammed Yousif, Chairman of Sharjah Theatre Council, said the event would kick off on March 12.
