Addressing the Press conference held at the Emirates Palace, Dr Hamdan bin Muslim Al Mazroui, Head of the GAIAE, said that the drive, held under the auspices of General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, is aimed to help the poor, needy, orphans, and education seekers.

The move aims at promoting the Islamic concept of social welfare.

Measures needed to be taken include taking care of students, providing health care to the people, building mosques, spreading the teachings of Holy Quran, and carrying out a number of charitable projects. Philanthropists and other people are required to extend their help to the cause of charity, Al Mazroui added.
