Plan to deal with emergencies

DUBAI — Plans to deal with emergencies, response time and coordination with civil defence team and a proposal for fire-fighting training of prison staff were discussed at a meeting yesterday.

The meeting was held between Major Tareq Ahmed Kalenter, Director of Dubai Men’s Prison, and Ali Hassan Al Matwa, officer of Al Ghusais Civil Defence Station, in Dubai. It also discussed the linking of the alarm system of the new jail with the Dubai Civil Defence. Major Tariq said the Dubai Police General Department of Punitive and Corrective Establishment had undertaken adequate safety measures at the new jail.

The arrangements included fire-fighting systems, first aid, safety zones and the preventive measures to evacuate people and save properties.

He said that the new jail premises included emergency exists and fire-fighting equipment.
