Marie.T., a visitor from London, said she was outside the Armani showroom when she saw water dripping from the ceiling. Meera Kaul, another visitor to the boulevard, said the noise was quite piercing. "People rushed out of the place from where the noise came. The maintenance crew arrived soon," she said.

The Emirates Towers confirmed the incident, and attributed the noise to leakage in one of the overhead water pipes. "There was some spillage in a water pipe which caused the excess water to flow in that part of the boulevard," said Anna Bleeker, Public Relations Director for the Jumeirah International Group. "The maintenance crew were quick to spot the problem and the area in question is now dry," she added.
