GDRFA centres across the emirate will be closed for the Prophet's birthday, the authority announced
Speaking to Khaleej Times yesterday, a PIA official said that all international flights will revert to their normal schedule from today. Due to the ongoing renovation projects and extension of the runway at the Peshawar International Airport, the airport had been closed to all international flights since September 7. In view of this, all international and domestic flights were diverted to Islamabad.
During the runway closure, PIA and other local carriers had made special travel arrangements for passengers on this sector, including providing them with ground transportation, refreshments, as well as a special baggage transportation system.
According to the PIA official, till today, more than seven flights had been diverted on the Dubai-Peshawar route and several stranded passengers had been attended to successfully. "We have received no complaints regarding the arrangements from any passenger so far," said the official.
The spokesman said that PIA had made exclusive transportation arrangements for all its passengers travelling on the Dubai-Peshawar sector so as to provide the best services to the Pashtoon community residing in the UAE. Other Pakistani airlines, including Aero Asia and Shaheen Air International, had also made similar arrangements.
