"We have already sought the assistance of the Dubai Police in raiding the residences of suspected pimps but, so far, the police have not arrested anyone as they immediately flee their dens once they learn that they are on the wanted list," said Consul General Antonio S. Curameng. This week, the PCG received its eleventh case of forced prostitution involving an 18-year-old Filipina from Caloocan City in Metro Manila. Reports said the Filipina arrived in Dubai in July holding a visit visa and was promised a job in a hotel but ended up being forced into prostitution.

Curameng said the young Filipina has already been repatriated to the Philippines on Tuesday evening after her handler, a Filipina named Monica, provided the ticket, pocket money and passport following a call made by a PCG Assistance to Nationals (ATN) staff.

The consul general said the PCG is still keeping track of the situation and that he has already coordinated on this issue with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in Manila.

"One of the measures that we are considering is cancelling the passports of these pimps but we can only do that once we have gathered their definite identity, contact details, personal circumstances and the offences they have made. We will then report that to the DFA who will file for a court order in Manila and authorise us to cancel their passports so they can eventually be deported to the Philippines where they will face charges on sex trafficking," Curameng explained.
