The consular mission will offer services ranging from passport application and extension, notarial services and issuance of Overseas Employment Certificates (OEC), membership applications for Pag-IBIG and Social Security System (SSS).

Labour Attache Delmer R. Cruz told Khaleej Times that the team from the Philippine Overseas Labour Office (Polo) will be able to issue an OEC to most, however household workers whose contracts require prior verification will not be issued the certificates.

“The team will render Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) membership services in addition to Pag-IBIG and SSS.”

He also said that the OECs and the membership services at the Al Shabab Sports Club in Dubai have been temporarily suspended until further notice due to low turn-out of applicants.

“We also wish to announce the availability of the POEA Balik Manggagawa Appointment System as an alternative to OEC application in Dubai. This web-based facility is a free service provided for the convenience of overseas Filipino Workers... Household workers’ contracts must be verified first by Polo Dubai,” he said.

Vice-Consul Gerry Suliguin said that the forthcoming consular mission is part of the regular mobile services of the consulate. However, if the consulate will receive the resolution from the Philippine Commission on Elections (Comelec) before the weekends, then the field voting for the Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV) will also be conducted. —
