Brigadier Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, head of the PCLA and Director of the Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department, said recently that 17 inspectors from the PCLA were involved in the exercise.

“Earlier, we used to pay eight to 10 visits a week to the labour accommodations. However, we paid 22 inspection visits in a week recently. It is very important that the labourers and companies comply with the safety, hygiene and security standards in the labour accommodations,” he said.

The inspections were as per the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The objective is to ensure labourers get better treatment.
