Paymaster Jailed for Wage Cheating
FUJAIRAH — A paymaster, who took over the wages of the workers, and kept it for himself, was sentenced by the Fujairah Shariah Court to one month in jail to be followed by deportation.
The Bangladeshi was found guilty of+ breach of trust by holding in his possession Dh10,200 being the salaries of the workers, which he was asked by the company to pay to the employees.
The case dated to last month when Dibba Fujairah police station was told by an executive of a contracting company accusing the paymaster of taking over the wages of the workers.
The court heard that the suspect had received the wages from the company to hand over them to the employees, but instead, he took the amount for himself. Acting on the report, Police, issued an All Points Bulletin APB to prevent him from leaving the country. The suspect was arrested, and on interrogation, he confessed to the charge.
