Partial road closures during Qasr Al Hosn Festival

Zayed the First, Shaikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and Hamdan and Khalid bin Al Waleed Streets to be closed from 2pm to 8pm during the event’s first day.

In support of the Qasr Al Hosn Festival starting tomorrow, the Safety and Traffic Solutions Committee (STSC) in Abu Dhabi has announced that some intersections and main streets around the Qasr Al Hosn area will be partially closed. Some of the streets that will be affected by the closure will be Zayed the First, Shaikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and Hamdan and Khalid bin Al Waleed Streets from 2pm to 8pm during the event’s first day.

As a result of the closures, residents and visitors to the aforementioned areas will be affected. To facilitate the flow of traffic, some bus routes will be diverted between 2pm and 6pm on the first day of the event.

The diverted bus routes are as follows:

Route 005, which serves Zayed the First Street and Shaikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street, will be diverted to Sultan Bin Zayed the First Street (also known as Al Muroor Street) going through Hamdan Street and will then go back to its normal route.

Route 007, that plies on Zayed the First Street, will be diverted to Khalifa Bin Zayed the First Street going through Hamdan Street to Khalid Bin Al Waleed Street, and will then follow its normal route.

Route 008, which serves Sultan Bin Zayed the First Street (Al Muroor Street) and Zayed the First Street, will be diverted to Hamdan Street and will then follow its normal route.

Route 009, that plies on Al Falah Street, will be diverted to Shaikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street, going through Hazza Bin Zayed Street then Al Karama Street, and will then follow its normal route.

Route 010, which serves Al Falah Street, will be diverted to Shaikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street, going through Hazza Bin Zayed Street then Al Karama Street, and will then go back to its normal route.

Route 032, that plies on Zayed the First Street, will be diverted to Sultan Bin Zayed the First Street going through Hamdan Street, and will then follow its normal route.

Route 034, which serves Zayed the First Street and Shaikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street, will be diverted to Hazza Bin Zayed Street going through Al Karama Street, Al Falah Street, Khalid Bin Al Waleed Street and then back to Zayed the First Street going through Hamdan Street, and will then go back to its normal route. Route 044, which serves Al Karama Street to Al Falah Street, will be diverted from Al Karama Street going through Hazza bin Zayed Street, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street and Al Falah Street going through Sultan Bin Zayed the First Street to Zayed the First Street, and will then go back to its normal route.

Route 054, going through the main bus station heading to Shaikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street to Hamdan Street, will be diverted to Sultan Bin Zayed the First Street until it reaches Hamdan Street, and will then go back to its normal route. All diverted bus services will resume normal operations starting from 8pm.

The SCSC is raising public awareness of temporary closures and diversions through a public campaign to provide related information to the public through media, distribution of leaflets on board public buses and to residents and visitors of the affected areas.

Streets to bepartially closed

Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street (also known as Airport Road), will be closed from the Hamdan Street intersection to Al Falah Street intersection.

Zayed the First Street will be closed from Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum intersection to Khalid bin Al Waleed Street intersection.

Hamdan Street will be closed from Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum intersection to Khalid bin Al Waleed Street intersection.

Khalid bin Al Waleed Street will be closed from Hamdan Street intersection to Zayed the First Street intersection.

Al Mashtal Street (the local road adjacent to Al Manhal Palace) will be closed from Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street to Mubarak bin Mohammed Street.
