ORGANISING of raffles is the fine art of promoting products and an effective means of boosting business. Successful companies and other agencies including newspapers often hold bumper raffles after hyping up their promos in print and audi-visual media.

Many raffle draws have been held in the country with many lucky winners hitting the jackpot.

Government agencies too organize and supervise these events, and the raffle draws are often shown live as well, especially on big public occasions like Dubai Summer Surprises and Dubai shopping festival draws.

In many countries the government deducts part of the prize value from the winner, and this is set aside for charity organizations, to be given later to the needy and poor.

We feel that the same practice can and should be followed here as well by the various organisations and companies organising these raffle draws for the general public.
