The committee has taken samples from different parts of the burnt building. Based on the conditions of specimens taken, a decision will be made whether to renovate the building or demolish and rebuild it.

Engineer Abdul Aziz Al Mansouri, Assistant Director of Sharjah Municipality for technical affairs, said the technical committee would take a decision within two weeks whether to go for renovation or demolition.

“We have taken diversified specimen from all floors to study the technical condition and structure of the building concrete and accordingly a decision will be taken,” he said.

Meanwhile, owners of shops at the building have posted notices on the building that they have shifted to another building as they don’t have permission to reopen their shops in the building. — amira@khaleejtimes.com
