Palestinians exempted from paying visit/residence visa fees, fines

The UAE President has given directives to the Naturalisation and Residency Department authorities to effect the order and to give Palestinian visitors and residents whose visa had expired, but who could not leave the country due to the current situation in the Palestinian occupied territories, enough grace period to continue to live in the UAE until the situation in the Palestinian occupied territories stabilises.

In a statement, Interior Minister, H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, said the presidential decision reflects UAE’s usual solidarity with all fraternal Arab peoples, adding that it also seeks to “enable our Palestinian brothers and sisters to cope up with the difficult situation they currently face in their homeland, for which they need all the necessary support”.

He said the Naturalisation and Residency Department (NRD) will start, from tomorrow, Thursday, processing for free visa transactions for Palestinians who come to process their visas at all NRD outlets, adding that those who overstayed their visas will also be exempted from paying the stipulated fines.
