Pakistani man dies in mishap

AL AIN — A Pakistani man died and another one was critically injured in a major car accident yesterday.

Speaking to Khaleej Times, an official police source from the accident section in Al Ain hospital stated that the accident occurred at 8am on the Al Ain-Abu Dhabi road near a fertiliser factory.

According to him, the driver lost control due to the high speed of the vehicle in which he was travelling and a traffic police team rushed to the spot to investigate the accident and the Civil Defence department came to the rescue of the injured.

The police removed the body of the driver who died on the spot and the other injured person was released from the hospital after an initial medical check-up.

In another accident, a Nepali man was injured when a speeding car hit him at the Hilli industrial area in Al Ain. The accident took place at 12:40 pm on Monday afternoon. An eyewitness called the police and the injured person was taken to the emergency section in the Al Ain hospital.

In the third accident, 19 cars collided with each other yesterday at 11am on the Al Ain-Abu Dhabi road in the Abu Samra area. "The accident occurred due to fog that affected the visibility of the drivers,” he added. The police and the civil defence moved one injured person to the Al Ain hospital while the others were taken to Tawam hospital.
