2019 is celebrated as the Year of Tolerance in the UAE. At Pakistan Association Dubai, we embed the virtue of tolerance in each and every activity we do. Our vision is inspired by embracing diversity and inclusivity across all platforms.
Tolerance lies in our blood. Our each and every activity speaks for itself. The monthly free medical camps held at our premises serve people of all backgrounds and is a beautiful atmosphere where the less fortunate ones are facilitated with dignity. Compassionate doctors from our medical wing have been doing the exercise from the last 10 years and have improved the lives of 26,000 people in 115 camps to date.
The intriguing element is these camps are not limited to the premises of PAD; they are taken into various labour camps in the city as well. All of this has culminated into Pakistan Medical Centre. This will be a first non-profit healthcare facility in the GCC put together by any expatriate community. By the grace of Almighty, the medical centre will be open to public in August this year.
The very innovative campaign of 'own a brick', which is contributing towards the world's largest community centre for overseas Pakistanis, is in itself an example of tolerance. It encourages members from all segments of the society to play a role in community service. The campaign is an opportunity for anyone to either own a single or multiple bricks; it's all about giving and becoming part of a larger cause.
Sports: Our sports facility is a bonding ground for different communities to come and utilise multiple facilities available. People of all nationalities come together to hold their respective sporting events sending a very strong message of how welcomed they are at Pakistan Association Dubai.
Pakistan Auditorium: Our auditorium serves as a platform for various social clubs to network and host their activities. It has the capacity of accommodating 750 people at one time, and at any given weekend, it is buzzing with people of all colours. To date, Pakistan Auditorium has hosted events of over ten nationalities and remains committed to entertain members of the community in every sphere.
Leading by example: Pakistan Association of Dubai is a support system for any individual who walks through its doors. Our licensing authority, the Community Development Authority has been our backbone of strength guiding us through all our ventures.
The foundation of our belief lies in tolerance and commitment to give back to the society, shunning discrimination at all levels. Oud Metha has a number of social clubs and the land they are built on was gifted by the late Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum. He set an example to the world that expatriate communities can have their own community centres, respecting the norms of the country at large.
We are extremely proud to follow the footsteps of the great leader who gave us a home away from home. The founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah strongly asserted the values of tolerance, compassion and cohesion to his countrymen.
We are fortunate to have such visionary leaders who have set the path of love, respect and harmony.
