The recommendations are as follows: A centre of excellence for Plastic Surgery should be set up. Training of paediatricians as community paediatricians should be done. The public should be made aware of the dangers of vigorously shaking small children as it can cause intracinal bleeding, which is fatal.

Educating asthma patients and their families about the disease is important. Since allergy is one of the causes of asthma, ensuring an allergy-free environment is essential. A universal policy of screening for deafness from the neonatal period should be implemented. The national TB control programme should give equal attention to children's TB because infection acquired during early childhood promotes reactivation in adults. Breast feeding should be encouraged.
