The total sales revenue throughout the six weeks of DSS 2007 has reached Dh347.9 million, up by 127 per cent from last year. Likewise, shopping malls have noted a 155 per cent hike in visitor footfall as compared with figures during the DSS 2006.
“These figures are very encouraging and reflect the success DSS has had in transforming Dubai into the ultimate summer shopping destination. DSS, as an event, has firmly established its ability to bring in visitors from around the world,î said Eesa Adham, head of the Dubai Shopping Malls Group (DSMG).
While the focus has been on family entertainment, the DSS Office has also taken initiatives to emphasise on shopping opportunities available for visitors to Dubai. To achieve a balance between entertainment and shopping, events for DSS 2007 were designed and organised to cater to all visitors, irrespective of age.
