The summer programmes - held under the patronage of Colonel Rashid Thani Al Matroushi, Director of Dubai Civil Defence - included lectures and courses on first aid, fire fighting, evacuation as well as field trips to government departments.

The groups which benefited from these programmes include the Women’s Association in Hatta, Emirates Science Club, Dubai Special Sports Club, the Libraries Section at Dubai Municipality, summer youth centres and the UAE Scouts Association.

These summer programmes are part of the annual plan conducted by Civil Defence in Dubai to spread awareness of the dangers and allow people to gain new skills in prevention of accidents.
