DUBAI — Dubai Police have intensified their crackdown on “organised begging” and vendors after a special team formed by the CID arrested several beggars and vendors from residential and commercial areas of the emirate.
The CID team had nabbed 174 beggars, including 140 men and 34 women, mostly those of Asian nationalities.
During their interrogation, the arrested men and women revealed that they had arrived in Dubai on visit or tourist visas during Ramadan.
