According to the organisers, the festival, being held for the sixth consecutive year, will help make people savour the different varieties and tastes of mangoes. They said that the 'Alfonzo' variety was still the most popular in the region.

Julfikar K., Purchase Manager of the Lulu Supermarket chain said, "there are so many different varieties of mangoes. But most people know only about select varieties like Alfonzo and Langra. We want them to know about the other varieties as well, which are even tastier."

Among the mango varieties available are ‘Chakrakutti’ from the Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, 'Swapnasundari' from the Indian state of Karnataka, 'Ambini' from India's Tamil Nadu, 'Sensation Mango' from Yemen, the 'Langra' from both India as well as Pakistan, 'Bet' from Sri Lanka, 'Chokanan' from Thailand, and 'Red Rose' from Karnataka among others.

"The rates will be economical and we'll also hold special promotions during the festival," Julfikar added.
