All competent authorities must work together and coordinate to expedite possible means of support
Talking to Khaleej Times, Mr Shamsi pointed out that the regulations and laws of the Fewa are implemented in Ajman since there are no local authorities as is the case in other emirates. Accordingly, Fewa is the only authority concerned to warn and penalise defaulters.
Mr Shamsi made this comment following reports on a notice being issued by the Ajman Sewage Company to residents warning them that the power and water will be disconnected in the event of failure to pay the charges against them. According to the warnings, defaulters will pay Dh2,000 as fines if they do not respond within 15 days and the company will ask Fewa to disconnect power and water supplies. "Fewa is responsible to collect the revenues of the electricity and water bills in Ajman, disconnecting power and water is among the federal authority's jurisdiction and no company can have the command over Fewa," he said.
"The company has no right to issue warnings to residents if they fail to pay."
