According to court records, an Indian worker at the key-making shop had alerted the police after finding the shop's glass door smashed open and cash missing. The incident dates back to early 2007 Investigations, and the subsequent evidence, led the police to UAE national Hassan Rashid. The police referred the case to the Public Prosecution, after charging him with stealing cash from the shop, damaging the glass door, and breaking into the shop.
