One killed, four hurt in accidents
DUBAI - A UAE national died and four men sustained multiple injuries in two separate traffic accidents, police said yesterday.
In one, a UAE national was knocked down by a speeding car as he was crossing a road parallel to the Shaikh Zayed highway. The man died on the spot.
The sources said the motorist involved in the accident was driving at a high speed and did not notice the pedestrian. In another accident, four men sustained multiple injuries when two cars collided on the Ras Al Khor road near the wastewater treatment plant.
Police said the driver was at fault because he failed to maintain a safe distance. The injured were hospitalised.
