This was stated by Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Executive Director for Medical Practices and Licenses and Acting Chair of the committee.

The committee decided to blacklist a general practitioner, close his clinic, cancel the license permit and refer the case to the public prosecutor in the emirate after reviewing the reports of the committee and a complaint presented by a government department about the remarkable and enormous numbers of sick leaves presented by the doctor himself against nominal fees.

During the investigation, the doctor admitted that he used to give the employees sick leaves due to their human circumstances where the committee stated that the former has been using his position in selling sick leaves retroactively for several weeks and of names other than the employee himself which is contradictory to the manners of medical doctors.

The Committee also decided after receiving several complaints against “a laser specialist” who is running a private medical centre for violating the licence conditions of the Ministry of Health. Therefore, the committee decided to temporarily suspend the doctor for the welfare of the patients until the completion of the formal investigation.

The committee also approved to temporarily suspend a dentist specialist after receiving a report from the inspection department which indicated that he is always unavailable in the company. In addition, the committee also decided after receiving several complaints against “an orthodontist specialist” for violating the licence conditions of the Ministry of Health which negatively affects the patients of the clinic. The subject has been postponed till the next meeting until her attendance in front of the committee.
