Nursing exam date set

ABU DHABI — The Federal Department of Nursing has announced that its next nursing registration examination will be held on January 26 next year, the intake for the examination scheduled for the period from January 15 to 19.

Nurses who will be registered for the examination should meet the following criteria:

All foreign national applicants who graduated from nursing programmes abroad must have obtained a minimum of 60 per cent of the total marks. They also must have at least 1,000 hours of nursing experience within the 3-year period prior to applying for registration, unless they have a BSN. New graduates with a BSN may apply after graduation without experience.

All foreign national applicants must prove their legal availability to work in the UAE.

The examination is open to nurses fluent in Arabic language and other nurses holding residence visas. They should meet any of the conditions: employed or to-be-employed in the private sector with a valid temporary licence issued by the Ministry of Health Medical Licencing department, repeating the nursing registration examination for the second or third time, and holding BSN degree.
