Dubai - The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched phase two of its ‘Sky Bus’ initiative in collaboration with air service provider Dnata.
Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 1 has now been linked with Dnata’s offices in Jebel Ali and Muhaisinah to transport passengers departing from these two districts free of charge.
Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development at the RTA’s Public Transport Agency, said: “The underlying objective of the initiative revolves around nurturing a strategic partnership between Dnata and the RTA towards realising a host of joint objectives highlighted by making people happier.
This goal can best be achieved through offering safe and smooth transport to all, easing the mobility of passengers arriving or departing through Terminal 1 and 2, coordinating efforts in delivering top class services to various community segments — especially visitors and tourists — and contributing to slashing the traffic congestion fueled by the massive number of vehicles on road.
Buses deployed for this service are featured by their attractive shape, replicating the concept of welcoming passengers arriving through Terminal 1 and 2. “Moreover, these buses have ample room for accommodating bags without impacting the basic specifications of the bus,” said Shakri.
