‘No proof’ Israel behind Hamas murder: Lieberman

JERUSALEM - Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said on Monday there was “no proof” his country was involved in the killing of a top Hamas militant in Dubai last month.

“There is no proof Israel is involved in this affair, and if somebody had presented any proof, aside from press stories, we would have reacted,” Lieberman said in a statement from his office.

“But since there are no concrete elements, there is no need to react.”

The European Union had earlier expressed outrage at the murder of Hamas commander Mahmud al-Mabhuh and the alleged use of forged EU passports in the killing, which has been blamed on Israel’s Mossad spy agency.
