No one above the law: Khalifa

ABU DHABI — Four judges of the Supreme Federal Court were sworn-in here yesterday before the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

In remarks, shortly after the oath-taking ceremony, Shaikh Khalifa expressed his best wishes for the new judges in discharging their responsibilities without fear or favour and in accordance with Shariah law. Shaikh Khalifa also instructed the judges to strictly adhere to standards of fairness and neutrality, noting that no one is above the law.

Also present at the oath-taking ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler’s Representative in the Eastern Region Shaikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior Lt-Gen. Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Supreme Federal Court PresidentJustice Abdul Wahab Abdool, other Shaikhs, ministers and senior officials. The judges who took oath are Ahmed Ibrahim Suleiman, Yousef Abdul Halim Yousif, Al Bashir Al Hadi Zeitoun and Osama Toufique Abdul Hadi.
