NMC holds first Annual Strategic Partners Gathering

The National Media Council (NMC) has held its 1st Annual Gathering of Strategic Partners and clients with over 75 representatives of government and local departments and a number of services users attending the forum.

The gathering comes within the NMC’s policies of keenness to boost relations with strategic clients and strategic partners, interacting with them in order to listen to their proposals on the services provided by the Council, in addition to exchanging ideas on developing them. It was also aimed at discussing future visions so as to enhance cooperation and the available opportunities to expand the provided services system to partners and clients.

Ibrahim Al Abed, Director-General of the National Media Council, welcomed the audience, pointing out that the NMC and the Emirates News Agency (WAM) aim to provide their services for all, and highlight the achievements of various departments.

Mr. Al Abed also urged the participants to send their ideas and proposals, since this has a great impact on the increase of cooperation and thus also achieve work improvement.

Alia’ Hassan Al Yasi, Director of the Department of Governmental Communication at NMC, who supervised the organisation of the gathering, said that the modern interaction and communication mechanisms adopted by the department aimed to improve means of communication with various departments, the public, and service users.

She also added that the NMC has initiated a presence on social network websites in order to receive proposals and complaints from customers and clients.

Director of the Office of Strategic Planning at NMC, Ahmed Al Shiba, made a presentation on NMC’s strategic plan, 2014-2016.

Jamal Nasser Al Swuaider, Acting Executive Director of WAM also gave a presentation on WAM’s strategy, work mechanisms, media coverage for local events and the Agency’s relations with various departments and institutions, noting that WAM is acknowledged as the first in the world to release news attached with photographs and video simultaneously, and it also broadcasts news in three languages and provides news services through social network websites for foreign reporters.
