NMC hails Ethical Journalism Initiative

ABU DHABI - National Media Council (NMC) has commended the role exerted by the UAE Journalists Association in cooperation with the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) to hold a conference on Ethical Journalism.

Director General of NMC Ibrahim Al Abed, who took part at the Ethical Journalism Initiative (EJI) gathering held from Feb. 8-9, in Dubai, said the participation of General Secretary of IFJ, a number of GCC, Arab and foreign heads of the journalists associations at the event gave a momentum to the UAE Journalists Association, as it would help upgrade journalistic professionalism.



He added that the attendance of NMC at the Ethical Journalism conference at which 20 countries took part and a number of media persons, availed him an opportunity to meet the IFJ officials, heads of the associations, media persons and academics to develop the relations, particularly in the area of training and expertise exchange.
