Nine eateries closed in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI — Around nine eateries were closed down and 164 kilogrammes of foodstuff confiscated and destroyed last month during an inspection campaign carried out in 2,818 food outlets in Abu Dhabi.

Mohammed Al Rabaisa, Director of Communications and Information, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA), said three restaurants, three cafeterias and Internet cafes and two groceries were closed down last month.

“About 801 warnings were issued last month of which 214 were issued to groceries and supermarkets, 156 to restaurants and 165 to cafeterias,” he said.

ADFCA inspectors booked 38 violations of which 14 were registered against restaurants and 13 against cafeterias.
