Several Pakistani electronic news channels have been issued show cause notice and are directed to submit an apology for airing false news.
The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) handed show cause notice to ARY, Dunya TV, 24 News, Public TV and GTV for running fake news regarding the termination and suspension of Pakistani pilots and engineers working for Kuwait Airways.

PEMRA reprimanded the news channels for running "fake news without any editorial check". According to reports in Samaa.tv, these news channels broadcast false reports immediately after the Pakistan International Airlines grounded 141 pilots for allegedly possessing licenses.
