New Year holiday for public sector announced
DUBAI - The public sector will be off work next Saturday to mark the new year, Humaid Mohammed Al Qattami, the Minister of Education and Chairman of the Federal Government Human Resources Authority said in a circular addressed to the federal ministries and enteritis.
The circular said article 5/100 of the federal cabinet resolution no 11 of 2008 reads :”A public holiday shall not be transferred or compensated if it falls on a public holiday or at the weekend.
Accordingly, Saturday, 1st January 2011, will be the official holiday for the new year.
Al Qattami congratulated PresidentHis HighnessShaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and people of the UAE on the occasion.
