Speaking to Khaleej Times, Saeed Al Sharqy, Director of the hospital, referred this success to the "Unrelenting support given to the hospital by Shaikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Abu Dhabi Public Authority for Health Services, and Hamad Abdulrahman Al Midfa, Minister of Health."

He added that the hospital was undergoing a large-scale process of development, renovation, refurbishing and expansion to cater for the ever increasing population of the Eastern Region of Abu Dhabi Emirate.

"The Al Ain Public Works Department is also constructing four new wards, which would constitute a substantial addition to the hospital," he said.

The new wards will be dedicated to Paediatrics, Elderly People, Neurology, Quarantine and Day Care," he said, adding that the four facilities are scheduled to be handed over to the hospital by the end of this year.
