Anchored by Nissar Syed, one of the most popular presenters in the Malayalam media, the Health Watch series will be spread over 52 episodes and will help expatriates in the UAE to learn and take precautions about various diseases. This is the first time that a health-related show is being made from the Gulf for a television channel based in India.

Speaking at a Press conference yesterday, Dr Azad Moopen, chairman of the group, said that the series would offer an opportunity for Malayalee expatriates to undertake voluntary changes in their health-related behaviour. "The 30-minute programme will help people to take preventive measures in an effort to ward off deadly diseases," he said.

In his message, the chairman of Kairali TV and Kerala's leading film star Mammootty congratulated Dr Azad Moopen Group for initiating such a venture and hoped that it would serve as a guide for the society, for a better and healthier living. The Azad Moopen Group, which operates a chain of clinics in the Gulf and has over the last 16 years associated itself with the best of healthcare services offered in the private sector in the UAE, will have its specialist doctors informing the public about the fatality of various lifestyle diseases leading to heart attack.

The first session, called the 'Doctor's Room', will address issues related to specific and common diseases. The specialist doctors from the group will highlight various aspects of healthcare in a simple and easily understandable format. The second session will deal with exercise, beauty and health-related subjects focusing on building a healthy and active mind.

The third session will be an interactive session, where people with enquiries will get a platform to communicate with the specialist doctors and seek clarifications. Queries can be sent in by e-mail or through a dedicated telephone number and the answers will be provided by the doctors during the programme.
