All entities founded and owned by the government of Sharjah or private firms affiliated to the Sharjah government and wanting services offered by social media influencers  should  get approval from the Sharjah Media Office prior to signing contracts with the social media influencers.

It was in March 2018, that it became mandatory for all paid social media influencers in the UAE to get a licence from the NMC, which came at a cost of Dh15,000 annually.
