New services at Rashid Hospital inaugurated

DUBAI — A number of diagnostic and therapeutic services were inaugurated at Rashid Hospital by Director-General of Dubai Health Authority Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid last week.

Al Murooshid inaugurated the respiratory disease section, which was recently transferred from Maktoum Hospital. He was briefed by Dr Shawqi Khouri, Director of Rashid Hospital, on the services offered by the section, such as diagnosis and treatment of various types of lung diseases, including bronchitis, lung cancer, asthma, respiratory failure and lung fibrosis.

Dr Khouri said the section receives more than 800 patients in a month while it has two consultants, six specialised doctors and five residing doctors. The section has the latest equipment.

Al Murooshid also inaugurated the acoustics and speech clinics.

He later inspected a number of development projects undertaken by the hospital in different sections.

Speaking after the inauguration, Al Murooshid stressed that in the near future, medical facilities in the emirate will witness a quantum leap with regard to diagnostic and treatment services.

"The DHA is keen to provide world class health services, including curative, supportive, and rehabilitation services for the members of the community, by using state-of-the-art technology and qualified and experienced human resources in compliance with the internationally established quality criteria," he added.

He also stressed on the need to identify the public requirements and demands by taking note of their complaints and suggestions.
