He was speaking at a function organised to honour teachers graduates who participated in the 'Technology Tools for Teaching — T3' programme offered by Zayed University in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Educational Zone (ADEZ) at the ZU premises last week.

The graduates teachers, both men and women, were drawn from 32 different schools in the capital, who specialised in the areas of languages, mathematics, science, social studies and Islamic studies. Some school supervisors were also given awards at the function.

The graduates went through 60 hours of instruction, created technology tools in different applications and evaluated the efficacy of the tools with students. They also created personal training files to facilitate training of their colleagues under the T3 programme. Eighteen projects were displayed, out of which 15 were in Arabic language, Islamic studies, social studies, mathematics and sciences.

Launched in 2003, T3 is designed to prepare serving teachers in the use of technology to enhance the instruction process. It is a joint venture between the Zone and the Center for Professional Development at Zayed University. The project encompasses orientation and training sessions for school supervisors and administrators to facilitate implementation and integration.

T3 comprises three stages — training workshop, field training and technology implementation.
