Aamal (meaning business) Consultants, a recruitment body was founded by Saeed Ateeq Salem Al Khamiri, Chairman, and Ahmed Al Yafei, Managing Partner, in response to the increasing demand for quality national talent for the local market. With the increasing interest in Emiratisation and the government's push for companies to hire more UAE national employees, Aamal will be focusing its activities on helping institutions and companies find the right candidates.

Conceptualised over a year ago, the agency was launched after extensive research.

"We clearly see the need to approach this project with dedication and professionalism. So we looked around in the market to find a partner who had the necessary technical know-how and infrastructure to save us time," Al Khamiri said.

He said Clarendon Parker Middle East FZ LLC, a leading Dubai-based recruitment company, was Aamal's partner providing technical support and know-how of the recruitment world.

Clarendon Parker host the Aamal web site and share their online database, which already holds many UAE-based vacancies and hundreds of UAE national candidates, said Al Khamiri, a former Under-Secretary of ADWEA, adding that future plans include a network of recruitment offices throughout the country.

"The concept of Aamal is based on finding candidates for jobs with our corporate clients, rather than jobs for candidates. Aamal considers it as its responsibility to match expectations of prospective employers and of candidates. We employ nationals as employment consultants to bridge the culture gap and make the placement process more straightforward," said co-founder Ahmed Al Yafei, who has extensive experience working with international companies during his career in Emirates Global Capital Corporation and Adnoc.

Aamal Consultants will visit prospective employers to get clear understanding of the profile required to fill vacant positions. Candidates have to undergo a thorough face-to-face interview with an Aamal Consultant. They will also be put through a skill test depending on the position and requirements of the client to assess his or her skills and capabilities.
