Consul-General Venu Rajamony said, “There were some technical problems that delayed the opening of the centre. Now, they’ve almost finished the work. The centre can be opened in IAS premises in a few days.”

Currently, the Indian Passport and Visa Service Centre (IPAVSC) at the Empost office on Al Wahda Road is the only office accepting applications from Indians living in Sharjah after the nationwide service was outsourced to Empost in February.

Prior to that, Sharjah applicants used to depend on the association’s office and the consulate in Dubai.
