New inductions given approval

DUBAI — Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President, Dubai Department of Civil Aviation and Chairman, Emirates Group, has approved a number of new appointments and the setting up of a new Commercial Directorate.

Jamal Al Hai, Director, Strategy and Management Excellence, has been appointed the Chairman of the Executive Board and Thani Binjarsh has been appointed as the new Director, Human Resource and Development. Huraiz bin Huraiz, who was earlier the Manager of Press Relations and Communications Division, has been appointed as Director of the new Commercial Directorate. The new directorate will look into all commercial activities, such as ground handling, landing and departure, catering, leasing, concessions, at Dubai International Airport.

Water supply

DUBAI — There will be interruption in water supply to Ghulaila, Khor Khowair, Al Rams, Daiya, Al Mahabeeb and Gailan from 7am onwards for 10 hours on July 25, according to the Federal Electricity and Water Authority (Fewa) because of an essential maintenance work being conducted in the main water network station in Ras Al Khaimah.

Herbal centre

DUBAI — The Dubai Herbal and Treatment Centre (DHTC), set up under the guidance of General Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence Minister, has appointed Simm Group to look after their public relations, advertising, media and creative services.

Opened in 2003, DHTC practises complementary and alternative medicine like traditional Chinese medicine, traditional Indian medicines (ayurveda), homeopathy, etc.
