World number two Sabalenka triumphed 7-5, 7-5 to add the New York title to her back-to-back Australian Open victories
The diversions have come up in Al Garhoud Bridge area and Bowling Intersection with a view to easing the traffic snarls.
The traffic flow from Al Garhoud Bridge is being separated from the traffic coming from other areas.
Eng. Badr Al Siri, director of Traffic at the Traffic and Roads Agency said the measure was aimed at easing traffic congestion resulting from the overlapping of traffic flow from Al Garhoud Bridge heading towards Sharjah and the flow from Baniyas Road and Rebat Road.
“Motorists coming from Al Garhoud Bridge and heading towards Sharjah are required to abide by the direction boards which offer the option of either continuing on the Al Ittihad Road or driving through to Deira before accessing Al Garhoud Bridge," said Al Siri.
According to these diversions, traffic coming from Baniyas and Al Rebat Road heading towards Sharjah will not have access to the underpass at the junction of the Airport Road with Ittihad Road, known as Bowling Junction. Traffic flow from Al Rebat Road heading north towards Sharjah is being diverted and will be denied access to the underpass of Bowling Junction.
