According to Asma Mohammed Al Jasmi, Head of the Customer Service Centre, a new counter has been dedicated for this purpose at the centre and this would come under the Food Control Section of the municipality.

"The new counter will receive reports of rejected or suspended consignments and take appropriate decisions with regard to their release. The counter staff will also respond to any queries of traders regarding the laws governing food trade in the emirate as well as an automated programme that is currently used by food traders in Dubai," Ms Al Jasmi said.

The Customer Service Centre, opened in 2000, offers a variety of civic services under one roof, simplifying procedures for the customers and cutting down the time for completing different transactions. Apart from all departments of the municipality that deal with external clients on a daily basis, other government departments and organisations like Etisalat, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and Empost have also set up counters at the centre.
