New course in library science
DUBAI - The American University of the Emirates announced the launch of its Master of Information Library and Science programme which is expected to start the next semester. The programme is designed to build a clear understanding of the principles of library science, awareness of delivery systems and information service delivery.
Prof Dr Muthanna’ Abdul G Razzaq, President and CEO, AUE said, “The new programme is the first of its kind in the region, and we are aiming to be one of the enduring successes of the American University in the Emirates, bringing together a mixture of theory and practice that truly demonstrates activities found in the workplace
“Through the programme, the university plans to create a clear understanding of the principles of library science, awareness of delivery systems and information service delivery in addition to developing students skills on information organisation and retrieval in IT for library information services”.
The course will include an internship as a mandatory module. This will be an opportunity for students to apply programme theories to the professional environment.
