The graduating class, consisting of qualified pilots from Bahrain and UAE as well, underwent an intensive course designed to concentrate on the theory of aviation and instructional techniques.

The theory exam was based on the European Joint Aviation Authorities syllabus which meets International Civil Aviation Organization requirements and standards and the approved curriculum of the General Civil Aviation Authority of the UAE.

Additionally, the pilots underwent instructional training. All the pilots completed the course successfully and are now qualified to instruct.

Since Horizon launched its marketing campaign in the UAE and Gulf Region, there has been a keen interest from the military, police and the civilian sector in the GCC and Middle East countries.

In its third year of operations, the academy has so far graduated 80 helicopter pilots and 22 flight instructors from the UAE as well as Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Graduates from Horizon have moved on to pilot some of today's most sophisticated aircraft including the Apache, Puma, Panther and Dolphin.
